Hello! I an attorney, cancer survivor, and lover of food, wine, travel, sports, dogs, and all things happy. I was raised in Alabama, but am a New Yorker at heart. After graduating from Samford University, I moved to New York to embark on my journey to law school. During my time living in New York\u00a0City, I graduated from law school, passed the New York Bar, practiced law, and found the loves of my life\u00a0in dog and human form.<\/p>\n

My husband Jason and I moved from New York City\u00a0to North Carolina at the end of 2012, and then to Seattle in December 2016. I spend my free time volunteering and serving on the board of nonprofit organizations. When I’m not working or volunteering, I enjoy playing sports\u00a0and\u00a0video games, cooking, dining,\u00a0drinking wine, traveling, attending sporting and cultural events, and spending time with Jason and our girls, Annabelle and Layla. I firmly believe that a life worth living must be examined and in the importance of being self-aware. My goal in life is to promote good, bring happiness and joy to those that surround me, and make the most of every experience. I am very fortunate to have truly wonderful\u00a0family and friends who fill my heart and share life with me. I hope you enjoy all that I share with you!<\/p>\n

Creation of Vino Ipso Loquitur:\u00a0<\/i><\/b>
\nI started this blog from the idea of having somewhere to keep and share all of my mom’s and grandmother’s recipes. It’s continued to grow and be a place where I share recipes, wine, restaurants, events, and travel. The name Vino Ipsa Loquitur<\/i>\u00a0is a play on the legal term “res ipsa loquitur” (meaning the thing speaks for itself) which incorporates my nerdy attorney side and my love for wine.<\/p>\n

Creation of The Kaley Chronicles:\u00a0<\/i><\/b>
\nOn December 23, 2014, I was diagnosed with Diffuse Large B-Cell Lymphoma. From December 2014 through May 2015, I went through fertility preservation and then chemotherapy. I started The Kaley Chronicles to keep family and friends from across the world up to date. When I was going through the diagnosis phase and numerous tests and pre-treatment procedures, I could not find a single resource that provided the answers to my questions and a honest account of battling cancer. My secondary purpose of this blog is\u00a0to be a resource for other cancer fighters, survivors and their caretakers to find a comprehensive diary of the decisions, procedures, challenges to daily life and mental, physical and emotional tolls cancer brings. I was declared no evidence of disease (“NED”) on April 2, 2015, and completed chemotherapy on May 10, 2015. I have remained in remission ever since!<\/p>\n
